Natalie Dray- "Be soft/ Be hard"
Natalie Dray's sculptures are made from steel and pewter alloys using traditional and invented craft techniques. Prophylactics and foliage surfaces have been hand cast and degraded or enhanced using processes and pigments that reference trends in the cosmetic industry.
I believe her sculptures have been useful towards the development of my work by the materials she uses and the contrast from natural materials to man made materials can work together taught me that the sculptures I make have a pretty appearance but when going closer to them there can be a deeper, darker meaning to which this pretty piece portrays.
